Ideas For Toddler Room Names

Post by Lorina » Wed Jan 06, 2010 5:17 pm

I love picking out room names because you can have so much fun with

Here are some of my ideas for Toddler Room Names:

- Street names such as - Tender Terrace, Lullaby Lane, Little learners Lane, Big Learners Boulevard, Huggable Hills, Infant Blvd., Kindergarten Crossing, etc. You could make little street signs and put them outside each of the rooms, in the foyer you could draw a map which you could put on display that shows where each of the "streets" are located. Also you could make a street post put each of the street names on it and point it in the direction of the room.

- Room names based on fruit..."Play Group Apples", "Nursery Grapes", "Kindergarten Olives", and "Pre-Primary Pears".

- On age groups - Terrific Twos, Outstanding Ones, Number Ones, Two Cute etc.

- Themes - Rainbow Room, The Ant Hill, The Busy Beehive, The Penguin Paradise, The Exploration Excavation, The Greenhouse, Cloud Nine, The Learning Landscape, The Zoo, The Aquarium, Fish Bowl.

- Discovers (babies), Explorers (toddlers), and Inventors (preschool).

- Little Tikes (2-3 yr olds), I'm A Big Kid Now (4-5yr olds)

- Adventure Island could be a preschool room name, when you have established the variety of learning environments in your childcare room set up.

- The Magic of Learning for the room and each area something magical related like - Pixie Island (construction area), Dream Time Land (home corner), Butterfly Kingdom (sensory/science & nature area).

Hopefully this gives you all a few ideas. I've got more, but I'll stop now. :D

Last place I worked they named the rooms after State flowers which was nice and Aussie eg. Waratah, Pink Heath, Cooktown Orchid
Before that the place I worked the rooms were after composers eg Mozart etc
pretty boring compared to some of the names people have thought of here.
Overseas my Toddler Room was the Star Class, which was fun, I like Rainbow & anything that portrays the adventurous learning phase kids are in at this stage
