Italian Family

Post by Moo10 » Tue Oct 04, 2016 6:42 pm

Two children have recently immigrated to Australia from Italy with their family. They have just been enrolled with the service provider where you are employed. The children start attendance next week. The parents speak a little English; however, the children do not yet speak any English. How can you accommodate the new children and ensure that they have a smooth transition into the care situation?

So far my answer is: i would contact a multilingual person in the child care service and ask for some assistance. I would then make up some flash cards with italian words and also with english words and with the objects in the picture eg chair, Table.
