Hello there,

My Question:List a range of services for accessing local knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.

My Answer is:

1.Creating a calendar of indigenous events that can be celebrated at the service,and by adding local events that are happening within the Indigenous community to the parent and staff notice board.

2.Inviting indigenous performers and artists into the service and hold workshops for children and families.

3.Network with local Aboriginal community and partner with them on a specific project.

4.Inviting Elders from local community to take part in celebrations and significant events.

5.Naming an area in the service in a local language, by Consulting with local Aboriginal Lands Council in regards to protocol and use of language in local community.

6.Planting a tree in the service to acknowledge a significant date on the Indigenous calendar.

7.Playing traditional Indigenous games.

8.Ensuring the service has a range of Indigenous resources like maps, flags, music, puzzles, books, dolls, videos, poster.

In terms of services, I think it is referring to external agencies that you can contact to find out more information... What state/suburb are you in so I can try and find out more info for you...
