a. Provide three strategies on how you would explain and practise emergency and evacuation procedures with each group below:
 Babies and toddlers  Kindergarten children

Educators need to have ready access to emergency equipment, such as phone, fire extinguishers and fire blankets’ (NQS, 2011 p.78).
5. How would you ensure that you have access and are trained in using emergency equipment?

By performing and practicing emergency evacuation drills ,
Putting babies and toddlers in cribs, or wagons that can carry several children at a time ,
Not panicking and assuring children of being in control explaining that we are going to our safe shelter.

 Kindergarten children
By performing and practicing emergency evacuation drills , not panicking and assuring children of being in control explaining that we are going to our safe shelter.
By teaching children the emergency exit signs to follow and the stop , drop and roll action to perform in case of emergencies
By discussing and practising emergency evacuation procedure , teaching them the route with pictures and diagrams
b. Provide two activities that you might use to prepare children for emergencies, for each of the age groups listed above.
