Your Assignment Module Number and Heading: CHCECE007 Develop positive and respectful relationships with children
Your Assignment Type: Standard Question
Currently Working in Childcare? No
Your knowledge: Beginner

Your Question?
this is the question I'm working on :

Give 3 examples of how the environment can reflect the lives of children, their families and the local community and why is important?

What is your answer so far or What have you done so far as an attempt to solve this question?
- A child whose family does not provide an enriching and stimulating environment -- whose parents don't interact and speak to him and don't nurture a healthy attachment -- may become developmentally behind.

-children with a stressful family environment may go on to experience learning disabilities and has a higher risk of coming down with a stress-related illness.

- children who witnessed violence between their parents are less well-adjusted and may cause children unnecessary stress that can lead to aggression, academic problems, unease in social situations and emotional issues.

- Children who have had a strong attachment to a nurturing figure and see themselves as separate from this nurturing figure are ready for a group situation.

For this question I think it may be talking about the overall childcare environment itself. For an environment to reflect the lives of the children, families and community you could have photos displayed of children and their families, set up cultural displays with information about the particular culture, send a weekend bear home where families add photos of their lives with the bear in a book, do a family wall with information about the families within the centre, display photos of centre events with children and family, have a notice board which provides details on the local community (libraries etc). and local events such as fairs, display posters of the different types of families within the centre etc.

Hope this helps,
